Last weekend we had promised the kids we would take them out on a canoe for a couple of hours. So we get to the lake, get our life jackets on, the lady proceeds to push us about a foot into the water and this is when I have a near panic attack! I can NOT do this! What if we tip over? What if we get too tired to paddle back into shore? What if the kids start rough housing while in the middle of the lake? Poor kids, I made them pull us back onto shore and that was our day. They were so disappointed.
So we promised them that this weekend we would take them on a pontoon. Much safer, no tipping and we have a gas motor so that means no rowing either. We watch the radar and think that the rain has past us. We load up and head to the lake. It was sprinkling a little on the way there but I thought for sure it would blow past us. There was no way I was going to disappoint the kids yet again. We were going on this boat, no matter what! We load up the pontoon and start onto the lake. The first 20 minutes were very F.U.N! The kids were taking turns driving the boat, Logan was having a blast and kept saying "Whoa! Whoa!" every time we would slow down or hit a wave.

Then the rain starts. And not just just sprinkles, it is POURING down rain! We are all hovered under the small little canopy and the rain was so hard it was actually hurting as it hit our faces. It was getting windy which made it even worse at this point. Joe has the boat going just as fast as a 16 ft. pontoon can go and it seems like we are never going to make it back to shore. But we finally did about 30 minutes later and we are drenched! From head to toe drenched! Not fun! But...the kids got their boat ride after all!
