Welcome Back!

Howdy friends!

It's been a long time....but I think I *might* try this thing called blogging again. It's been way too long. The kids are growing & life is becoming much more busy than it once was.

But, that doesn't mean I haven't missed you all. 'Cause I sure have! Grab a cup of coffee and sit back and join me in this blogging journey.

First, I need to run and clean up dinner, wipe some faces, fold some laundry, load some dishes in the dishwasher and iron some shirts. But don't worry -- I'll be.right.back to fill you in on lots of happenings here at our house! See you in a jiffy!!

Wow! It's been way too long!

Hello everyone! It is so nice to see you! I bet you thought I had forgotten about you all. Well, I have not! I have just been "that" busy. What is keeping me so busy you ask? Zach.Aubrie.Logan. Yep, those 3 little monkeys sure are keepin me on my toes. But, I wouldn't want it any other way, that's for sure!

The big kids are back to school. Summer flew by so quickly. But we did have a TON of fun so that's what really matters, right?

So, things have slowed down a *little* bit during the day. But they have kind of gotten busier at night to make up for it. Seems as though we have somewhere to be or somewhere we *should* be every night of the week. Sometimes we skip out, like we did on swimming lessons tonight. The big kids forgot it was Monday and I forgot to remind them. Kind of. But not really. What they don't know, doesn't hurt them, right? In fact, Logan and I stayed in our jammies all day today. We actually all sat down and had a home cooked meal. It was wonderful! Swimming lessons will be there next Monday and the next one hundred Mondays after that so I am glad we kinda "forgot" where we needed to be tonight.

Tomorrow is a busy day for Logan and I as we have Bible Study in the AM and lots of errands to run in the afternoon. But, we'll make it through and I promise to have new pictures and more updates posted on our (very neglected but not forgotten) blog soon!

Summer is HERE!

Today is the first day of summer vacation for the big kids. I am excited and ready. Ask me next week and my answer may be completely different. ;)

We don't really have much planned as of yet. I am sure we will spend plenty of time playing outside, visiting the park and of course swimming.

I can not believe it has been so long since I have updated our blog.

We have been doing well and keeping busy! Lots of things wrapping up with the end of the school year.

Logan's Pedi appt.

Oh that Dr. Raj... she always make me feel so much better! Anyway...we went in today and had Logan's hearing tested! He passed with flying colors--YIPPEEE! Of course any child who has frequent EI's is in danger of having hearing loss. Luckily for us...little dude hears just fine! :)

She also told me that he will probably not have another EI since we are coming into the summer months. If he does, she will send us to see a "not so stubborn" ENT and she will personally tell him that she wants tubes in his ears. No ifs ands or buts about it. If we make it to fall and he gets an EI, she will give him the first one but if he gets a 2nd, again we will be returning to an ENT and he will be getting tubes regardless.

So we are at the point now where we need to cross our fingers, say a prayer, what ever it is that you do, in hopes that we stay EI FREE!! Please, please, please!

But I am so relieved that his hearing is perfect. That was my biggest concern!

Oh and poor little man---God Bless his little heart because he started screaming the minute he saw that Dr. She had to stand in the hallway and talk to me so we could actually hear each other. In fact, as soon as we pulled into the parking lot he started fussing and while waiting in the waiting room he had a few meltdowns and cried that he wanted to go "Bye Byes!" I think he needs a break from the dr.'s office, don't you?

ENT update

We went and saw the ENT for Logan today. Good news is that the dr. wants to wait and see if he has anymore EI's during the summer months before talking about tubes. Of course I hope and pray that he does not ever have another EI but I am not very optimistic. I kind of feel like we were blown off today and the 90 year old ancient dr. was sort of insulting. Oh well....if this boy ends up with another EI, I am going to be one MAD mama! I was finally at a point where I am ready for something to be done about this and then get talked to like I am half retarded or something. Ugh! I am going to call and talk to the pedi tomorrow (she referred us after all!) and see what she says. I just don't want Logan to have to deal with this anymore, you know?!?

Anyway.... today was a super busy day with our trip to Children's and then back home to get Aubrie ready for her dance pictures. She got to wear her recital costume and my mom and I took her to get her make up professionally done. My mom has some pics that she is going to email so I will be sure to share them with you when I get them.

Then we were off to pick up the boys at G-mas and back home for some outside time before bed. Joe is getting them all pj'd up as we speak. :)

Our day...

Let's just say, it didn't start off the greatest. We left bright and early for Z's soccer game. Luckily my mother in law offered to keep the little kids since it was wet and chilly out. I drove through McD's to get a hot chocolate and Zach asked for a sprite. Now normally we do not drink sprite for breakfast, nor do we EVER eat or drink in the van. It's just one of those things that Daddy doesn't like and since he...well...makes the car payment, we respect those wishes. This morning I agreed to let Z have a sprite. For breakfast. And in the van. You know, just between the two of us. Nobody else needed to know, right? As I handed it to him, I said those famous last words. DO NOT SPILL IT! I had no worries as he is a pretty neat kid and very rarely spills something. Well wouldn't you know it, about 30 seconds later we had a back seat full of sprite. Luckily we had stopped by Grandma's work and she had some paper towels handy. We cleaned it up the best we could and off to the soccer game we go. The only bad part is that I had to confess to letting Z have a sprite not only for breakfast but in the van too. We didn't get punished too harshly. ;)

Fast forward a couple of hours when the kids and I are at Target getting snacks for A's game. We have some time to spare before we have to be at the fields and the kids wanted Icee's so we stop at Target's small cafe and get some snacks and Icee's. I hand Zach his and Logan's Icee and tell him to go sit with them while I get A's filled up. Now remember, this is the child who rarely spills anything, right? Anyway...I have no idea what happened but as I look over, the lid to Logan's Icee is smashed into the cup and there is red Icee e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e! I quickly grab the couple of napkins we had at the table and a very kind lady sitting next to us got up and grabbed another stack for us. We get everything cleaned up, I hand Logan his now half full Icee and he drops it right between the chair and the table and guess what happened then? Yep, you guessed it! Red Icee all.over.the.floor! At this point, I have had about enough of this Icee business! Thank heavens for the nice lady sitting beside us with her husband and 2 children because she got up again, grabbed us some more napkins, filled the boys Icee back up (what a sweetheart!) and laughed right along with me. I mean come on...what else could we do? I am sure she was just thinking... "Thank goodness it's not my kids!" And I'm sure I was thinking...."Why couldn't these be her kids?" Haha!

Oh well... we made it through the rest of our "snack" with only one more accident. That would be Aub falling out of her chair head first and knocking her elbow on the side of the cart. But, we walked away with only a little bruise and NO TEARS! So it couldn have been worse!

It's finally 8:15pm--I have been looking forward to this time ALL.DAY.LONG!

So, in about a half hour, the drink spillin and fallin off your seat kids are going to bed and I am going to the bathtub!
